YOGA

Yoga is a practice that focuses on your body and your breathing. Yoga is slow and deliberate, and gives you a chance to pay attention to the subtle strength of your muscles and how they affect your shape and your movement. Yoga strengthens and lengthens your muscles to allow more natural movement around your joints.

There are various props and blankets you can use to adjust the intensity of the yoga poses to work with the shape and ability of your body.

When you check out our yoga classes, keep in mind that beginners should start with Level 1 courses, or with courses that do not specify a level. After you have taken yoga classes for a consistent 6 weeks you may be ready for levels 2 and more.

Note from Susan: I recommend that you try them all and see which one feels the best for you. The style you like is the style you will stick with so don’t let anyone else tell you what is best. Trust yourself.

Pace yourself and remember you have a lifetime to enjoy your yoga learning.
